In Loving Memory of
Jeffrey Frederick

Paddle Out • Saturday, October 17, 2026 • New Smyrna Beach Inlet

Please join us as we paddle out together to celebrate the life of our dear friend and beloved Sober Surfers International Surf Team member, Jeffrey Frederick.
Jeffrey became part of the Sober Surfers family in 2022, and he was so much more than a member of our surf team. He was a friend, an encourager, a man of faith, and someone whose love for Jesus and the ocean was evident in the way he lived. Jeffrey even prayedbefore his heats, reminding us that surfing was about far more than competition.
On Saturday, October 17, we will gather at New Smyrna Beach Inlet during the NSSA competition, where we will be cheering on Jeffrey’s brother, Kevin, as he competes in Jeffrey’s honor. The competition is expected to run from approximately 8:00 a.m. to noon, and our paddle out will take place following the competition. Look for the Sober Surfers International tent on the beach.
Jeffrey will forever be remembered as a permanent member of the Sober Surfers International Surf Team. His place on our team—and in our hearts—will always remain.
Honoring Jeffrey’s Legacy
In lieu of flowers, Jeffrey’s family has graciously asked that donations be made to Sober Surfers International and the programs Jeffrey was proud to be a part of.
Donations made in Jeffrey’s memory will help us continue serving youth and individuals through surfing, mentorship, prevention, recovery, faith, and community. Through these programs, Jeffrey’s legacy can continue reaching people in the ocean and beyond.
We are deeply grateful to Jeffrey’s wife, Paula, his family, friends, and the entire New Smyrna Beach surf community for allowing us to celebrate and carry forward the life of someone who meant so much to us.
You can’t stop the waves, but you can learn to surf.
Forever on our team. Forever in our hearts.
